The Vice President for Business Affairs oversees the management of the following areas:
Bookstore: The University Bookstore is committed to providing goods and services that meet the academic and social needs of the University community while at the same time remaining self-supporting. Academically, the Bookstore is a resource center where both required and supplemental reading materials and school supplies may be purchased to reinforce and nurture the educational needs of the community. Socially, the University Bookstore enhances and promotes the spirit of the University.
Facilities Services: Facilities Services supports the vision, mission, and goals of the university by providing responsive, quality services; safe, well-maintained, and attractive campus facilities and infrastructure that are conductive to learning and research; and innovative and cost-effective resource management.
Financial Services: The area of Financial Services is comprised of Accounting & Financial Reporting, which includes Financial Reporting and General Accounting; the Budget Office; Business Services, which includes Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Special Projects Accounting Services; Purchasing & General Services, which includes Central Receiving, the HUB Program, Mail Services, the Printing Division, the Purchasing Office, and Records Management; and Student Business Services. The primary responsibility of Financial Services is to ensure the proper stewardship of the University's Financial resources.
Food Services: UTEP Food Services is managed and operated by Sodexo Services, Inc. They strive to provide quality food offerings and services. Their catering services provide a variety of menus and pricing, along with a staff that can assist in making your event a great success. Their goal to satisfy all your food services needs and budgets.
Miner Gold Card Office: The Miner Gold Card Office is responsible for the production of Miner Gold cards, establishing point of sale locations for the on-campus declining balance program, and vending contract management.
Parking & Transportation Services: Parking & Transportation Services provides reliable, quality, and efficient parking and transportation services that meet or exceed customer needs and apply the industry's best practices and latest technology in developing locally appropriate solutions by employing innovative programs through customer focus and trained and skilled personnel.
Special Events: The Special Events Office develops and manages a broad range of entertainment programming for The University of Texas at El Paso and oversees game management activities for UTEP Miner athletic events. The Special Events Office strives to enhance the educational and cultural experience at UTEP by developing quality event programming, ensuring professional event and game management services, and providing excellent client and patron services to the El Paso and regional communities.
Special Facilities Management: Special Facilities Management maintains the facilities of Magoffin Auditorium, the Don Haskins Center, and the Sun Bowl to the highest possible industry standards and provides expertise, equipment, staffing, and technical support for all events that perform in these facilities. The department must generate revenue required to sustain general operations and facility maintenance, as well as to improve or expand operations, programs, or facilities. The department will coordinate and host activities which promote the recreational, cultural, personal, and educational development or students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests of the University.
Ticket Center: The Ticket Center provides and manages a full-range of professional ticketing services for The University of Texas at El Paso through ticket outlets, internet, telephone, and other media. The services provided by the Ticket Center support entertainment, athletic, educational, and other programming activities for UTEP, El Paso, and regional communities.
