About CLL Minimize

WHAT IS CLL?
The Center for Lifelong Learning is an educational program planned and
operated by and for individuals 50 years of age and older, sponsored on
the UTEP Campus by The Division of Professional & Continuing Education.
There are more than 300 such college-sponsored centers in the U.S.

Why should I join CLL?
Three good reasons: because mental stimulation is as important as
physical exercise to maintain good health, because individuals have the
ability to learn throughout their lifetime, because retirement is one of
life’s major adjustments.
CLL provides a relaxed, non-threatening environment to facilitate
this learning.
CLL offers continuing intellectual stimulation, physical activities, and
new friendship/social opportunities.

What level of education do I need?

No particular level of education is required, just a desire to participate and learn.

Who can join?
Anyone 50 and older can become a member. Greater El Paso area residents, including Ciudad Juarez and New Mexico are invited to participate.

What does it cost?
• One-time membership fee: $25.
• Fall and Spring semesters: $60 each.
• Summer semesters: $25 each.
The semester fee entitles members to enroll in as many CLL courses
as they choose.
(Some classes have individual fees associated with materials or
equipment. Classes that meet more than once a week and/or have
limited enrollment may have additional fees)

Most classes are held in Miners Hall on the UTEP campus,
and meet in the afternoons, Monday through Friday.

What other benefits are available to currently enrolled CLL members?
• Campus parking permit.
• Discounts on non-athletic UTEP events with CLL ID card
• Drop-in Social Center (Miners Hall Rm. 209)
• Audit of one University credit course per semester
• UTEP library card.
