Ironport Antispam Minimize
In an effort to reduce the amount of spam reaching your inbox UTEP Information Technology has implemented
an industry leading spam-filtering software called Ironport Antispam. When e-mail reaches UTEP, it is scanned by Ironport to determine the probability of the message being spam. If the message scores above the threshold, the message is sent to your corresponding Quarantine mailbox instead of your inbox. If any messages to your UTEP e-mail account are quarantined, you will receive a brief message daily that recaps any new messages in your Quarantine mailbox for the last 24 hours. You can view your Quarantine mailbox at any time by clicking here and logging in with your e-mail name and password.

Additionally, if there are messages that reach your inbox that you believe are spam messages, please forward the messages to security@utep.edu, and we will send the message on to Ironport so that changes can be made to the spam filters. If there are messages that are consistently being improperly quarantined from a specific person, please send an e-mail to security@utep.edu with the exact e-mail address that should be considered “safe” and it will be added to the Allowed Senders list.
