One of the most important things you can do to protect yourself (and your computer!) is to have an up to date anti-virus program running.  You can purchase anti-virus software at any major retailer or download it on the internet.  Additionally, many vendors offer free trials of anti-virus that can be downloaded on the internet.

Important: Before you install anti-virus software, please ensure that you have removed any other anti-virus software.  You can remove the software manually through the Add or Remove Programs section in your computer's Control Panel.  Multiple anti-virus software programs can interfere with the protection of your machine.  As always if you need assistance, please e-mail us at security@utep.edu.
