What Options Are Available For Resolving Complaints of Sexual Harassment?
Charges of sexual harassment within the University community are sensitive and complex. The University of Texas at El Paso provides a process to assist you. For assistance with issues involving sexual harassment or misconduct, the student should contact the Equal Opportunity Office. After discussing the situation, the student will be provided with options of how to deal with harassment. These options may range from receiving suggestions on how to discourage the harasser yourself to filing a formal written complaint. If a formal complaint is filed, the University will conduct a thorough investigation, as per the sexual harassment policy. In these situations, the University will ensure that the rights of both the complainant and alleged harasser are protected.

Confidentiality
The University shall document complaints and their resolution. The Equal Opportunity Office shall retain such documentation. To the extent permitted by law, complaints and information received during the investigation will remain confidential. Relevant information will be provided only to those persons who need to know in order to achieve a timely resolution of the complaint.
