Cheryl Howard is a retired UTEP Professor.  She taught for 21 years in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.  She misses teaching, but keeps busy with a variety of interests, some new and some that there was never enough time for before now.She got started making jewelry when she quit smoking; it was a way tokeep her hands busy and her mind off of cigarettes.  She finds her inspiration in the colors ofthe southwest and in the stones and the beads and the metal that she works with.  Dr. Howard also enjoys photography, watercolors, poetry and fiction, African and Caribbean drums, and cooking.  But mostly she likes spending time with students…of all ages.
