UTEP Today Policies and Guidelines

The guidelines set forth in this policy are designed to ensure communication to UTEP students, faculty, and staff via the  UTEP Today system is professional, consistent, clear and relevant. The Office of University Communications administers and enforces the policy. System infrastructure management is provided by UTEP Information Technology.

University-wide content - University Communications

Department-based content - Zone/Site Administrators

UTEP Today content administrators are required to ensure content is accurate, current, and consistent with this policy.

Appropriate Messages

  • Directly involve UTEP students, faculty and staff
  • Highlight campus activities
  • Student led activities such as fraternity and sorority functions, SGA, CAB, etc.
  • Sports and special events such as theater plays, concerts, etc.
  • Critical deadlines for academic calendar
  • Important dates for university openings and closings
  • Congratulations to university departments, organizations and/or individuals for awards and honors
  • Important weather and national news updates when necessary

Inappropriate Messages

  • Personal messages
  • Non-UTEP Activities
  • Solicitation of goods and services
  • Others determined inappropriate by the designated the university administration

Who can make a request?

University faculty, staff, and registered student organizations.
