The PC Support team at Technology Support provides assistance with diagnosing hardware malfunctions and initiating cost-effective repairs. The technicians can also provide consultations on upgrades, purchasing of repair parts on behalf of the customer and installation and configuration of hardware.

Hardware support includes repair and/or maintenance for UTEP owned computers and peripherals.
• PC Support technicians are certified to perform warranty repairs on Dell and
Apple computers and tablets.
• PC Support installs, configures, performs routine maintenance, and
troubleshoot issues for most printers, copiers and fax machines.
• If equipment is not a brand or item we can support, PC Support will
recommend options.
• PC Support can complete many service requests online via the Remote Control.
• On-site visits are scheduled for requests that cannot be resolved remotely.

PC Support technicians will acknowledge a service request within 4 working hours. Actual resolution times will vary, depending on call volume and the time required to resolve various technical issues. Customers are encouraged to take advantage of the remote control feature to allow for quicker resolution of service requests.

For printers, copiers, and fax machines under vendor contract (such as Spectrum and IKON), contact the vendor for installation, maintenance, and repair.

There is no cost for installation and general maintenance of printers owned by UTEP, providing that no repair parts are required.
For repairs not covered under warranty, the PC Support Team is authorized to purchase repair parts on behalf of the customers. The customer will be notified of the cost for the parts, if in agreement they will provide an account number. PC Support will then purchase and install the required part. The customer's account will be billed for the cost of the parts plus a 10 percent service fee. |
