UTEP desktop and laptop computer standards are evaluated by college and departmental technology representatives each year. Specifications are evaluated and revised to ensure they meet the needs of the majority of campus users. Standardizing computer equipment increases efficiency and reduces the total cost of ownership across campus. The standards are for computer purchases for offices, computer labs, and other locations.

Getting Started

MinerMall
All standard computer orders by must be placed thru MinerMall. Log in and click on the Dell or Apple logo to order computers (see options below). Some modifications may be made in MinerMall (memory, storage, larger monitor, etc).

If a standard computer will not meet your requirements, you may request a non-standard computer from within MinerMall. Get a quote from the vendor, then in MinerMall, select Non-Standard Computer Requisition. Complete the form and submit it for approval. Be sure to enter the Quote number in the item Description and attach it to the requisition.

For hands-on help purchasing a new computer, contact your Technology Implementation Manager or your Purchasing agent.

To request assistance moving files from an old computer to a new one, visit helpdesk.utep.edu and enter a service request.
