The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) will begin to install new signage for campus parking during summer 2017 that renames the lots and garages based on street locations or proximity to a building or a campus function. UTEP’s offices of Planning and Construction and Parking and Transportation Services will manage this project that will augment the University’s ability to direct the campus community and visitors to parking locations in an intuitive, memorable and easily recognizable way.
Each parking lot and structure will be identified at each of its entrances. Parking lots/garages on the same street will be sequential starting from the west (Sun Bowl) side of campus, which is the University’s major point of entry. For example, one would get Schuster Avenue Lot 1, 2, 3 starting from the west side.
The new signage is part of the Wayfinding component of the University’s campus transformation master plan. It should be completed by the start of the fall 2017 semester.
